Kalasoppaa ja intoilua / Fish Soup and Anticipation

Miehen kokatessa keittiössä madesoppaa mä horisen Ravelryssä joutavuuksia. Viihdytän itseäni katselemalla kuvia viime kesältä ja miettimällä, minkä neuleen pakkaan huomenna reppuun.

My fiancé is cooking fish soup. (I love fish names in English! From Wikipedia, about the fish he is using today: "The burbot (Lota lota) or bubbot^[1] is the only gadiform (cod-like) freshwater fish. Also known as mariah, the lawyer, and (misleadingly) eelpout, the burbot is closely related to the marine common ling and the cusk.") I keep myself entertained by looking at pictures from last summer and thinking about what I want to knit tomorrow.

Kevät polttelee jo kovasti ajatuksissa. Lumi voi alkaa sulaa jo parin kuukauden päästä! Kesäkesäkesä... Yhtään ei auta toi pelargonikuvien selaaminen, ajatus uudesta parvekkeesta, välillä pilkahteleva aurinko...

I am getting excited about spring. The snow might start to melt away in a couple of months. Summer... Looking at pictures of geraniums does not exactly help out. Nor does the fact that we have a new balcony. And the sun already peeks out every once in a while.

Tästä suloisenpehmeästä käsinkehrätystä on tulossa kauluri silakansuomuneuleella. Hi-das-ta! Opin lisäksi sen, että tuohon neuleeseen on otettava reilusti isot puikot - aloitin koolla 3,5 mm, mutta päädyin lopulta koon 6,5 pyöröihin. Woops :)

This divinely soft hand-spun yarn is turning into a herringbone cowl. I have never tried that stitch before. It takes ages! Also, I doubled the size of my needles and started again. Woops :)

Ensi viikolla on muutenkin luvassa pikku neuleita käsinkehrätyistä langoista. Luotan siihen, että huomisella Villavyyhdin työhyvinvointiretkellä pomo auttaa kuvaamisessa.

I will post about little projects of hand-spun yarns next week. I trust my boss will help me take pictures when we head out to our company spring get-away tomorrow.
